WHAT MAKES IT GOOD?

Variety of typefaces, lines, images and wordsets and different colours available.

One of the reasons that dry letter transfers have always been so popular is because you can get so many different different typefaces and colours. Although black is the most common colour you can also get, red, green, white, silver and gold. Having a variety of typefaces really appeals to a wider audience as they have the option to work with the typeface or colour that they want.

 

WHO WOULD FIND IT GOOD?
Creative designers/artists/typographers/illustrators who have a interest in type.
Whether you have a wealth of knowledge about typography or find it interesting dry transfers allow you to appreciate typography more as well as allowing you to focus on certain fundamentals of type, it also allows you to experiment with a product/process that you might not have used before which can always be useful.

WHO WOULDN'T FIND IT GOOD?
Artists/Designers/Creatives, who cant justify the cost of the transfers
One of the reasons that less people buy dry letter transfers is the cost of them, as they can be quite expensive. Although this is quite a major factor with the dry transfer letters, in terms what you're actually getting they really are worth it.

WHAT IS IT BETTER THAN?

Better than always relying on software to create typographic design.
Certain software is a essential part in creating type design but using transfers allows you to think about what you're doing before you simply go ahead and do it. It's not to say that software shouldn't be used but transfers really give you a better understanding about the fundamentals of typography as you've got to take kerning and leading into consideration. Also as the letters aren't always easy to remove it ensures that know what you're doing before you go ahead and do it.

Creative designer/Artist/Illustrator/Graphic Designer.. A creative person basically.
Essentially it would be someone who works in the creative industry. From graphic designers and typographers to fashion designers and architects.

Travis Barker.

Thinking about how dry transfers work and how tattoos work.. Cause Travis has a loads of Tattoos.. transfers.. tattoos.. It made sense in my head.

IF IT WAS A PLACE WHERE WOULD IT BE?

In the Letraset factory where Letraset was first born in the 1960's.

The birthplace of letraset was in Ashford, Kent. The letraset factory is still based there although what they produce and sell has changed dramatically over the years.

IF IT WAS EVENT, WHAT EVENT WOULD IT BE?

An exhibition focusing on typographic design.

On the basis that my chosen item is essentially a tool for typography..
