Graphic identity for ADC Hall of Fame gala, exhibition and "Festival of Fame" speaker series.

Tonight the Art Directors Club will induct the 2010 class of its Hall of Fame at a gala ceremony in New York. Founded in 1971, the Hall of Fame honors innovators who have made significant contributions to art direction and visual communication. The Hall of Fame membership represents a “who’s who” of design and advertising and is meant to serve as an inspiration to the creative community.
The graphic identity for this year’s Hall of Fame gala, exhibition and “Festival of Fame” speaker series has been designed by Pentagram’s Michael Bierut, a Hall of Fame inductee in 2003, and Joe Marianek, a winner of this year’s ADC Young Guns 8. The identity, which is entirely typographic, features Carter Sans, a new typeface designed by Matthew Carter, one of this year’s Hall of Fame laureates and the recipient of a 2010 MacArthur “genius” grant. (Carter will be speaking at the ADC with fellow laureate Christoph Niemann next Tuesday, November 9.)

Domenic Lippa and his team have designed the identity for Lucy Peel, a London-based naturopath. Naturopathy is a complimentary therapy working with the structural, biochemical and emotional aspects of the body and how these may be affecting a person’s health and well-being. These three elements are known as the “Triad of Health” and are referenced by the three points around Lucy’s name and title in the identity.
The positioning is subtly enhanced by the use of natural colours and material textures along with images gleaned from nature.

Creating a identity for Lucy Peel by Pentagram design. Quite a simplified design, again I like the simple colour palette. Really like the stock that the business cards are printed on. Like the continuity in the design between the brochure design and the business cards. A subtle mix of type and image..

The use of water for these posters is what appealed to me the most. It's such a innovative idea and really original. Would have been interesting to know whether it is actually done with water or manipulated with software. I guess there is issues with how readable it is from a distance.

What is graphic design for? www.mark-design.co.uk

Brochure design for Natural Elements - a leading office interiors company. Following the logo design, this 64 page embossed brochure provides a sumptuous overview of the company's project range. This design continues through all other marketing materials.

Always been quite interested in print and came across this brochure design which uses mainly image, the layout throughout works really well and has a real contemporary feel about it.

A subtle but classical embossed identity design for Natural Elements - a leading office interiors company. Elevating the company's visual identity to better align with the highend furniture systems, the muted colours and greys compliment the contemporary product photography.

Really like the way in which the identity is represented throughout the brochure with the colour scheme running through.

What is graphic design for? Universal Wrapping Paper

So quirky and different.

Graphic design that really is about allowing the user to interact. Such a simple concept that works so well. Allows the audience to use the paper in anyway that they want.

Really innovative style of packaging, makes me understand how important a limited colour palette is when it comes to packaging. A range of different styles. A interesting a use of both type and image on some of the designs.

What is graphic design for? www.establishednyc.com

Packaging design from www.establishednyc.com originally found on http://www.thedieline.com/blog/2011/3/14/aschen-and-voss.html.

"A line of cosmetic packaging designed for Swiss newcomer Aschen and Voss, the packaging and identity seeks to combine the clean pharmaceutical heritage of Switzerland, as well as the formulation of the product,  with a modern, cosmetic brand that appeals to the sophisticated urban shopper."

Quite innovative packaging design for make up. Think that the limited colour palette works really well. Obviously aimed at female audience, I think the packaging is really quite sophisticated, probably one of the nicest packaging designs i've seen for a while

What is graphic design for? kissmiklos.com

Work from kissmiklos.com originally found on the dieline packaging website.

LACK magazine is a new Hungarian fashion magazine.
I tried to visualize the “lack” on the typo, and I wanted to design a logotype, which is classic like VOGUE, or big, classic fashion brands, but fresh and playful.
I wanted to separate the company’s logotype, and the magazine’s logotype, but at the same time keep them in sync.

The magazine’s logo is just a simple LACK typo.

Firstly came across the Lack magazine on the packaging website the dieline. After going onto the kissmiklos website I found examples of the original identity for Lack. The embossed buisness cards work really well just printed onto white stock with black. I think the use of the gold colour on some of the stationary with the black and white works really well. A really interesting typeface as well, stand out and is a bit different.
